QWhat is Atlanta School of Photography?

A: The Atlanta School of Photography is a complete educational program for photographers. We teach the craft and the art of photography for people using digital SLR & mirrorless cameras.

 

QI only know the ON/OFF switch on my camera. Will I be ok?

A: Yes! You're in the right place! Check out our Photo 1 class and you'll know all those crazy buttons in no time.

 

QI know quite a bit about my camera, I'm looking to be more awesome at photography.

A: Fantastic! Check out our intermediate and advanced classes and workshops!

 

QI need to learn something very specific, like to how to take pictures of the African bee on a cat's nose. Which class is right for me?

A: Coaching! One of our superhero instructors will meet with you one-on-one to teach you exactly what you need to know. We can usually cover two to three class sessions in a single hour of coaching.

 

Q Where is the Atlanta School of Photography located?

A: The school is located at 1135 Sheridan Road at the corner of Cheshire Bridge Road and Sheridan behind the CITGO gas station and across from the Regions Bank. The school is located only 2 blocks south of the intersection of I-85 and Cheshire Bridge Road. For more complete directions, check out our Directions page.

 

QWho teaches the classes?

A: The classes are taught by professional photographers eager to share their knowledge with you. Please check out our Instructors page for more info on each teacher.

 

Q: How do I enroll?

A: Simply choose the class you wish to take and register on-line or call us at the school.

 

Q: I have a Gift Card from the Showcase School of Photography. Will you honor it? 

A: Yes! We will honor any Showcase gift card up to $75 until June 30, 2017. Give us a call or send us an email to sign up for a class. 

 

Q: Do I get certified?

A: The Atlanta School of Photography does not issue any certifications or degrees. We are a community education program. However! If you're looking to expand your photography career, meet with one of our instructors for a mentorship!

 

Q: Where should I park when I come to class?

A: Good question! There are several options for parking. The lower lot (Sheridan side) adjacent to our building is always available but does fill quickly. Other parking is available in the upper lot (DV shop). 

 

Q: What are your office hours?

A: Monday - Thursday   9am to 1pm  and    5pm to 8pm

Saturday 9am to 12pm

Q: What type of camera do I need to take a class?

A: You will need a DSLR or mirrorless camera – a camera with interchangeable lenses and the option of manual controls. Have a different type of camera? Give us a call!

 

Q: My camera is not a digital SLR but I still want to learn how to use it. What do I do?

A: We can gladly connect you with one of our instructors for one on one tutoring for your point and shoot camera. Please call us at 404.965.2205 for more info.

 

Q: Do I need to have my own camera to take a class?

A: Yes. You will need a DSLR or similar camera for class.

 

Q: Can two people share one camera in a class?

A: Yes. However, you do need to register both people.

 

Q: I missed my class this week. Can I come to the same class at a later time/day the same week?

A: Unfortunately, due to the small size of the classrooms and strict class size we are unable to accommodate those requests.

 

Q: Can I make up a missed class?

A: Unfortunately, due to small class sizes we are not able to offer make up classes. Should you need to miss a class, you are welcome to ask your instructors questions about your assignment and materials covered before or after the week you miss.

 

Q: What if I registered through CourseHorse and need to cancel?
